Sensory Processing Assessment

Can behaviour be linked to sensory processing difficulties?

Some people experience sensory processing differences that affect their ability to participate meaningfully in everyday activities and engage with others around them. This may include sensitivity to touch, sound, movement or smells, or difficulties coordinating and organising their bodies.

Using sensory processing questionnaires and a clinic-based standardised assessment, we identify the sensory factors contributing to functional difficulties. We then provide individualised recommendations and practical strategies to support their participation at home, school, work and in the community.

Could a Sensory Processing Assessment Help?

    Ask yourself:

    • Are noise, crowds, clothing textures, or certain foods overwhelming for them?
    • Do they avoid activities that involve movement, touch, or messy play?
    • Do they constantly seek movement, crashing, spinning, jumping, or deep pressure?
    • Do sensory challenges affect their participation at home, school, work or in the community?
    • Do meltdowns, emotional outbursts, or difficulties with attention seem linked to sensory experiences?

If you answered “yes” to one or more of these questions, a sensory processing assessment may help identify sensory strengths and challenges and provide strategies to support their everyday participation.
