Alyssa Hawkins
Alyssa is a Paediatric Occupational Therapist who believes all children and adolescents have so much potential to learn and grow – we just need to find the best ways to allow this potential to flourish.
Alyssa joined the Family Connections team in August 2024. She graduated from Western Sydney University with a Bachelor of Occupational Therapy, where she had learning experiences in hospital wards, special education schools & in occupational rehabilitation. Alyssa is now a registered OT with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulatory Agency (AHPRA) and maintains an enthusiastic love of lifelong learning.
Alyssa has a background in supporting disadvantaged children with Diverse Learning Needs in a school setting for several years. She understands the importance of the family unit and in finding practical strategies to help at home, at school and in all other aspects of a child’s life.
Outside the clinic, Alyssa is a dancer and dance teacher. From her teenage years, she has been involved with teaching and engaging kids with a variety of needs through her work and volunteer roles.
Alyssa is passionate about building connections with children and their families in a fun way to produce desired outcomes. She values the importance of learning new skills and recognises that not everyone does this in the same way. Alyssa desires to continue learning how to help little ones be their best selves, in all aspects of their unique young lives. Aiming for and sharing those magic moments of success for a child or family is what drives her to always strive for the best results.
