Amy Horton

Amy is passionate about building strong therapeutic relationships and creating a positive, playful environment where children feel safe to try new things.

Amy is a Paediatric Occupational Therapist who believes that every child has unique strengths and the potential to grow, learn and thrive especially when they are given the support they need.

Amy joined the Family Connections team in January 2021 after completing her Certificate III in Allied Health Assistance. She began working as an Occupational Therapy Assistant prior to graduating from Western Sydney University with a Bachelor of Occupational Therapy.

Amy is a registered Occupational Therapist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).

Through her university studies and work, Amy has experience working with children with a variety of developmental needs and understands the importance of collaborating closely with families. She values providing practical, meaningful strategies that support children at home, school and within the wider community.

Amy enjoys getting involved and furthering her knowledge in the field, striving to always improve her understanding of the needs of those around her. She recognises that every child learns differently and is motivated by celebrating those small but meaningful moments of success alongside children and their families.

Outside of the clinic, Amy likes playing soccer and assists in training and development for younger teams.
